A Family Epic Along the Water
The adventure began in the 19th century, when Jean-Pierre Saysset settled in a humble dwelling on the banks of the Tarn, opposite the village of Ambialet. At that time, the daily comings and goings of travelling merchants and travellers set the pace of life in the household, thanks to the ferry connecting the two banks. Naturally, the house became a stopping place: people would stop by to exchange news, share a moment of life and, soon, enjoy the family's hospitality.

From a simple pint to generous snacks, the house slowly transformed into an inn. While the men brought back the fruits of their hunts and fishing trips in the abundant natural surroundings, the women transformed these treasures into feasts. With fish from the Tarn, game from the forests and delicacies from the vegetable garden, the table gained a reputation that quickly spread beyond the village, enhanced by the conviviality of Gaillac wines.

Seven Generations of Passion
Today, seven generations later, the tradition lives on. It is now Julie's turn to watch over what has become the illustrious Hôtel Restaurant du Pont. Surrounded by a dynamic team, she perpetuates ancestral know-how based on quality local products.

Our cuisine, 100% homemade, pays homage to the local terroir. Certified by Les Cuisineries Françaises, we showcase fresh regional produce through creative and delicate dishes. Facing the large stone bridge dating from the early 20th century, our guests enjoy an exceptional panoramic setting where gastronomy meets history.
